LEDs and The Road to Carbon Zero with the Thrive Co-operative Learning Trust/C3 Group

Updated: Sep 8, 2023

Over the last two summer holidays, the C3 Group has been working with our trust to ensure all of our lighting in our schools and offices has been upgraded to the latest LEDs.

For the nine schools involved in this project, below is the impact that this will have. (As you will gather, our schools vary considerably in size and age with buildings ranging from the two oldest Victorian schools in Hull to some of the newest).

Chiltern Primary – 194 LEDs - 2.03 tonnes of carbon saved

Ings Primary – 327 LEDs - 17.03 tonnes of carbon saved

Kelvin Hall – 2,128 LEDs - 41.12 tonnes of carbon saved

Newland School for Girls – 1,180 LEDs - 25.73 tonnes of carbon saved

Oldfleet Primary – 57 LEDs - 1.18 tonnes of carbon saved

Priory Primary – 229 LEDs - 6.68 tonnes of carbon saved

Sidmouth Primary – 238 LEDs - 5.467 tonnes of carbon saved

St. George's Primary – 90 LEDs - 3.11 tonnes of carbon saved

Stepney Primary – 34 LEDs - 0.6 tonnes of carbon saved

Total - 4,477 LEDs - 102.947 tonnes of carbon saved

NB Since this work was completed, The Boulevard Academy, which has LEDs throughout, has joined our Trust.
